Starship UI — an LCARS emulator

A working LCARS interface, drawn live in your browser

Starship UI is a free, fan-made LCARS emulator: a working recreation of the Okudagram computer displays of Star Trek: The Next Generation, the TNG feature films and Star Trek: Voyager. Nothing is pre-recorded — every elbow, bar and instrument is generated and animated in the browser, with no install and no account.

Sixteen consoles and a panel generator

The curated consoles are Bridge Operations, the Main Engineering master systems display wall, Main Engineering, Flight Control, Tactical, Science One, Sickbay, Stellar Cartography, Library Computer Access, Transporter Control, Subspace Communications, Damage Control, Environmental Control, a Situation Monitor, Auxiliary Control and the Astrometrics Lab. A procedural generator composes new panels from thirty-one instruments and eight frame styles, and every panel, curated or generated, can be reproduced from its seed and shared as a link.

Five screen-accurate colour schemes

The palettes reconstruct the early and later LCARS sets of the TNG series aboard the Enterprise-D, the amber-and-steel Sovereign-class panels of First Contact, the cooler Nemesis refit and Voyager's Intrepid-class scheme. Green, yellow, red and blue alert conditions, a fullscreen mode, a CRT scanline overlay and a synthesised audio interface complete the console.

Unofficial and non-commercial

Star Trek and LCARS are trademarks of CBS Studios / Paramount. Starship UI is an unofficial fan tribute to Michael Okuda's interface design, built by Barkada Systems, with no affiliation, no advertising and nothing for sale. The source is on GitHub.
